For more details about Dr. Rathbun's background and seminars: There is no doubt that social media and improper use of technology have posed risks for adolescents and teens. It has been widely acknowledged that it has had a detrimental impact on our youth emotionally and even physically. Exposure to harmful content has caused anxiety, depression, addiction and in extreme cases has even led to suicide. In addition, the overuse of certain types of technology has negatively impacted children developmentally and educationally. An over allowance of AI as a source for research and writing in the classroom has negatively stunted the development of critical thinking skills. A social media and technology Seminar will be held at the Trinity Baptist Church Auditorium to help parents and teens with these matters.
